Christi was appointed U.S. Country Head, President of Novartis Corporation & President of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in April 2014. She joined Novartis in July 2010 as Head of North America Novartis Oncology where she oversaw all operations including Medical, Commercial and staff functions for U.S. and Canada. During her tenure there, the North America Oncology business achieved unprecedented positive growth despite key patent losses. She improved margins while successfully launching two new chemical entities (NCEs) and six new indications. This contributed to strong strategic brands growth.

Christi brings more than 25 years of pharmaceutical and medical device experience with strong strategic capabilities in commercial, financial, clinical development, medical affairs, and operations leadership in uniquely challenging situations. She has worked across many different therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, CNS, oncology, infectious disease, rare diseases and Women’s Health. Her continued dedication to ensuring patient access to innovative medicines, along with her ability to mobilize organizations to deliver results that exceed expectations, are hallmarks of her leadership.

Prior to Novartis, Christi was Vice President, New Business Development & Strategic Analytics for Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company. There she was responsible for strategy and pipeline, developing new and adjacent product categories which led to two significant acquisitions, and the company’s business information and analytics capabilities. Before that role, Christi was Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Ethicon Products, where she worked with R&D to accelerate the pipeline, resulting in six product launches in 3 years.

Christi joined Johnson & Johnson in 2002 at Janssen Pharmaceuticals. During her tenure in there, she rose through a number of key positions with increasing responsibility within Janssen Psychiatry, Ortho Women’s Health & Urology and McNeil Pediatrics. She joined the device and diagnostic division at Ethicon in 2007.

Christi started her career in pharmaceuticals at Eli Lilly and Company where she worked for 14 years, successfully laying the foundation of her experience in sales and management. She has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin and a BA from Iowa State University.
